More on Sodom and Gomorrah
Let us know that these calculations are approximate, but what a blessing it is to piece the puzzle together with such evidence made clear! It should be obvious that the Earth is approximately 6,000 years old, it sure didn’t take “Adam and Eve” much time to curse the world.
Based on biblical chronologies (specifically Usher), there are approximately 2,000 to 2,100 years between the creation of Adam and Eve and the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. This calculation includes roughly 1,656 years from Adam to the Flood and about 400–450 years from the Flood to Abraham, knowing that Abraham was around 100 years old when Sodom and Gomorrah was destroyed. Lot was the nephew of Abraham (also known as “Father Abraham.”) We read that Lot found favor with God and was instructed to leave and not look back and what does Lot’s wife, do? Looking back is not letting go!
Key Chronological Milestones: (according to the Book of Genesis)
Adam to the Flood: ~1,656 years. (through Noah's son Shem).
Flood to Abraham: ~422–430 years, (making Abraham the 8th-great grandson of Noah). Are you keeping up, lol?
Sodom and Gomorrah: Destroyed during Abraham's lifetime (Genesis 19).
Therefore, the total span is roughly 2,078 to 2,100 years, depending on the specific genealogical interpretation.
Jesus Christ teaches us that he has not come to do away with the law, but to fulfill the law. We have comfort through education (Holy Spirit), belief and faith in Jesus Christ!
