Can anyone guess when Jesus Christ will break the first seal (The Tribulation)? I am full of wonder about the time frame between the first and second seal. We know that until the anti-Christ rises and forms an alliance with Israel, we cannot measure time accurately, leaving us to wonder (waiting on the knowledge of the Holy Spirit). The First Seal Initiates the Process: The breaking of the first seal releases the first of the "Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse," often interpreted as the rise of the Antichrist, who comes to conquer. The four angels bound at the Euphrates (Revelation 9:14) are not directly identified as the first seal (white horse), but rather appear later as part of the sixth trumpet within the 7th Seal, which intensifies the global judgment initiated by the seals. For now, we wait upon Jesus Christ to accurately measure time according to his (Jesus Christ’s) lead, in breaking the seals. We know that the span is 7 years in total before Jesus Christ returns. Yes, even now, no man, not even Jesus Christ knows the exact date of his return but God alone has the word! Who is awed, knowing that Jesus Christ is God and yet, only God, the creator can control the trinity? The only word that comes to mind is, beautiful!

7 Seals

The Order of the Seven Seals (Revelation 6-8:1)

  1. First Seal (White Horse): A rider with a bow and crown goes out to conquer. Often interpreted as a false peace or the Antichrist.

  2. Second Seal (Red Horse): A rider takes peace from the earth, causing global warfare.

  3. Third Seal (Black Horse): A rider with scales brings famine and economic collapse.

  4. Fourth Seal (Pale Horse): Death and Hades kill a quarter of the earth with sword, famine, pestilence, and wild beasts.

  5. Fifth Seal (Martyrs): The souls of those killed for their faith cry out for justice from under the altar.

  6. Sixth Seal (Cosmic Cataclysm): A massive earthquake, the sun turns black, the moon turns red, and stars fall, signaling the wrath of the Lamb.

  7. Seventh Seal (Silence): Seven angels are given trumpets, leading to silence in heaven for about half an hour, preceding further judgments.

Notice:

  • Worthy Opener: Only the Lamb (Jesus Christ) is worthy to open the scroll and its seals.

  • Significance: The seals are interpreted as judgments, warnings, or unfolding events leading to the end of the world and the establishment of God's kingdom.

  • After the Seventh Seal: The opening of the seventh seal initiates the seven trumpet judgments, which are more severe.

  • Interpretations: Views range from ages (events that already happened in the 1st century) to Futurist (events yet to happen).

The Seven Seals, described in Revelation 6-8, are a series of divine judgments that launch the Tribulation period, initiated by Jesus (the Lamb) opening a scroll. The seals release the Four Horsemen (conquest, war, famine, death), followed by the martyrs' cry, cosmic disasters, and ultimate silence, marking the beginning of the end times.

Note: The Four Angels, released from the Euphrates happens at the breaking of the 7th Seal at the 6th trumpet. Timing: The seven trumpets are the "contents" of the seventh seal. The release occurs specifically at the sounding of the sixth trumpet (the second woe). Many confuse the Four Horsemen with the 4 fallen angels.

    • Nature of Angels: They are widely interpreted as fallen angels (demonic powers) bound by God until a specific hour, day, month, and year.

    • Function: They lead an army of 200 million, bringing massive destruction and killing a third of humanity.

    • Location: While sometimes associated with the Euphrates, some interpretations focus on them being released at the river rather than bound under it.

The drying up of the Euphrates, often linked to this prophecy, is interpreted in various ways regarding current events, but in Revelation, it is the sixth bowl judgment (Rev 16:12) that specifically and completely dries the river for the kings of the east, a distinct event from the sixth trumpet.
